About

Hi, I’m J. Kiere.

I design modern jewelry for ambitious women who are creating their own path while honoring their lineage.

I design for women like you, who:

  • Have a strong sense of community and connection
  • Want to enjoy life to the fullest and look good while doing it
  • See jewelry as a form of self-expression to highlight your signature style and what is important to you

I started making jewelry when I was 16 in my high school art class. We learned about different jewelry making techniques but making chains stuck out to me the most. I loved being able to take this one technique and make anything that inspired me. As the school year ended and my high school graduation neared, I spent every chance I got to be in the art room to make jewelry. High school at times was a lonely experience for me. I was one of very few Black students at my school and making jewelry became an escape for me and helped me to enjoy my solitude.

Growing up I was taught that how you present yourself is important. Regardless of income, the women in my family showed up with their hair and nails done, fabulous clothes, and most importantly, coordinated jewelry. When I decided to make a business out of my jewelry designs I knew I wanted to name the designs after my family and friends because so much of my style is inspired by them.

Jewelry can have so many meanings and I want to create jewelry that inspires connection across generations. My business would not be possible without the support of my family and friends.

After graduating from high school, I went on to study Economics at Spelman College. I took advantage of entrepreneurship programs and sold my jewelry on campus at Market Fridays. I knew that I wanted to not only be a great jewelry designer, but also a great businesswoman so I pursued a Master’s Degree in Accounting from Wake Forest University School of Business and I am currently a licensed CPA in the state of Georgia.
